Wrap-Around Care (Breakfast & After School Club - Unique Voice)

Hello Everyone! 

And happy Winter. As always, it has been lovely to welcome our returning children at Wrap-Around-Care as well as welcoming some new friendly faces. It’s amazing to see how settled and confident our little groups of friends have become. Now we’ve entered the colder months we’ve spent some lovely times cosying up with our fairy lights and listening to Winter stories around the world. We are still making the most out of the last evening light, exploring what all the different playgrounds have to offer on our imaginative adventures!

🌟 Highlights of the Month 🌟

During our sessions this month, we have been exploring a range of themes. We came back after the half-term break with a BANG! It was Fireworks week! We celebrated by making our very own glow-in-the-dark fireworks, enjoying some yummy treats, and of course, we had a glow-stick fireworks disco! Some of our children even caught a glimpse of actual fireworks from the playground looking over St George’s Park. 

We also explored the change of season as we transitioned from Autumn into Winter. The children showed great teamwork and creativity, creating ‘Autumn into Winter’ paint murals. We researched the lifecycle of a tree throughout the year and used these as prompts. The children especially enjoyed playing their favourite game… Four Corners! This time we each of the corners represented a season, in an intense and fun game, FW in Year 2 came out on top! Well done, FW.

🤩 Shout Outs!

A big shout-out to The Summerhill Infant School Parent Committee for holding a fabulous bake sale last term! The children (and adults) really enjoyed venturing out and eating some yummy bakes. Thank you!

🍂 What’s coming up in Breakfast & After School Club

Coming up! As we draw closer to the end of the year and the evenings get colder, we’re delving into our mystical sides. Sneaking past grumpy trolls, heading off on our winter wonderland imaginative journeys and taking some time to reflect on the year with some positive affirmations.

Did you know? A calm, settled start can make such a difference to a child’s day. Our Breakfast Club offers a gentle space where children can arrive slowly, enjoy something to eat, and find their feet before the school rush begins. Even if you don't need the early drop-off, your child might benefit from this softer transition into school. Speak to Liv if you'd like to find out more.

Finally, a gentle reminder that all collections take place at the gate. Parents and carers should not enter the school site or the room we are facilitating in, as this helps us maintain essential safeguarding and site security procedures.
